After graduating from Tioga Central High School, Principal Keene earned her Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education from East Carolina University.  She taught first grade in North Carolina for six years.  After moving back to New York, she earned her Master's Degree from Elmira College.  After teaching fifth grade at Tioga Middle School, she earned her Administrative Degree from Cortland and became Principal at Nichols Elementary.
